Work from the Takeda years, spanning the exposure–response analysis underpinning dosing for brentuximab vedotin (ADCETRIS) in the Phase III ECHELON-1 study, and a multi-institution framework for selecting combinations of targeted agents in non-small cell lung cancer.

Immuno-oncology · CTLA-4 blockade and tremelimumab

The anti-CTLA-4 clinical program.

Tremelimumab, a fully human anti-CTLA-4 monoclonal antibody, was advanced from first-in-human through Phase 3 during this period; it was later approved as IMJUDO. The papers below span the pivotal trial, earlier Phase I/II studies across melanoma and colorectal cancer, and the translational work on mechanism, pharmacokinetics, and imaging that ran alongside them.

Adenoviral vectors, apoptosis, and targeted delivery.

Earlier work in the Gene Therapy Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with David T. Curiel — adenoviral vector design, intracellular single-chain antibodies, apoptosis modulation, and cell-based delivery, largely in ovarian and other solid tumours.

Early clinical work with the ONCOPAZ Cooperative Group at Hospital La Paz, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid — Phase II studies of chemotherapy regimens in oesophageal, gastric, and non-small cell lung cancer. Where a regimen did not merit further development, the paper says so.
